Hand sanitizer recall

This message was originally sent Thursday, July 23, 2020

Detroit Arsenal Teammates,

The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers that a number of hand sanitizers are being recalled due to containing wood alcohol, also known as methanol. Methanol is a substance that can be toxic when absorbed through the skin and can be life-threatening when ingested.

The brand Blumen is on the recall list and was sold through our AbilityOne Base Supply Center. However NONE of the recalled lot numbers were sold through our center, and this recall is specific to lot numbers identified by the FDA. More information can be found on the FDA website.

The safety recall can be found here:

I wanted to share this information with you to keep you informed and encourage you to check your products, in case you purchased hand sanitizer through a different vendor or purchased/brought in personal products.
