Serving our community
At TACOM, we take our commitment to the community very seriously because we believe that by working with our neighbors and community partners and being actively involved we are investing in everyone’s future.
Every day our Soldiers and Department of Army civilians work to make significant contributions to the community and to build and strengthen our relationship with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Our office is a liaison with neighborhood, community, business and nonprofit organizations on matters pertaining to the Army and TACOM.
We are an engaged civic, cultural and business partner dedicated to preserving TACOM’s long-term community relations commitments, advancing current priorities and exploring new initiatives.
We are committed to telling the Army story through everything we do, and we value your feedback and suggestions.

Base Tours & Speaker Requests
Hands-on, close-up experiences help to increase the understanding and appreciation of our Army and the work we do. The TACOM Community Relations program provides installation tours of TACOM assets and speakers for organizational engagements.
• Our Speakers Bureau was created to allow organizations to hear first-hand from Soldiers and Department of Army civilians, who will move people and teams through compelling speeches and storytelling.
• Our Base Tour program featuring TACOM assets is especially designed for the community. Our program introduces you to the Integrated Logistics Support Center’s supply chain management program. Tours are based on availability and subject to change due to mission requirements.

DoD Commitment to Service
The Commitment to Service program is a Department of Defense initiative built upon four pillars: community, leadership, transition, and health.
The program allows service members and professional athletes (both pro and collegiate) to work together to serve their communities.
It is rooted in belief that the services need to reconnect with the American public and reverse the trend of always being the recipient of “thanks and support” from their communities.
This initiative is about increasing the understanding between America’s military and her people; a necessity to sustaining the All-Volunteer Force.
Currently the Detroit Arsenal partners with the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Lions on this initiative.
